Meeting with God in Pennsylvania

This week I’ve traveled a few hundred miles to join the women of Freedom Fellowship at a retreat in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I’m excited about being with a group of women who are committed to living out God’s mission for their lives. I’m asking God to fill my mouth to speak what He wants communicated this weekend.

Please pray that God will meet with us and instruct us.

Whenever I speak, it is always with fear and trembling; knowing what an awesome responsibility it is to share God’s Word. So why am I taking the long flight and putting myself under that pressure again? What is my motivation in giving up the weekend with my favorite person in the world (my hubby) and missing out on a morning worship service with my church family (missing my favorite pastor’s message—again, my hubby!)?

Why am I in Pennsylvania? I’ve shared this with you before, but I can never say this enough:

Women need to hear the truth about our great redeeming God.

We live in a day noisy with the clutter of false ideas and loud, ungodly, rhetoric. Women are confused and in need of truth. Marriages are failing, children are walking away from the faith and women are drowning in a sea of lost dreams and hopelessness. I can’t fix this, but I know One who can.

What is the answer?

Our only hope is a mighty, mountain-moving, earth-quaking, nation-shaking movement of God. I’m asking Him to do this. I’m asking Him to bring revival.

Don’t misunderstand me when you read the word revival. I’m not talking about an old-fashioned tent meeting, or church event on the calendar where people come, have an emotional experience, and leave without measureable life-change.

When I use the word: revival, I’m talking about a revolution of mind and heart that so affects a group of people that there is no mistaking they’ve been radically affected by God!

A God-Centered Revolution where:

This is what I dream for. This is what I live for. This is why I pack my bags and take another weekend away. I’m only one small speaker in a world of voices, but I pray God meets with us. I pray God moves in the lives of women who are attending this conference.

I’m asking God to ignite the fire of revival.

Will you join me in asking for that? Will you pray for us this weekend?

  • Tamara

Joining with you in praying for revival. Praying for you and those traveling with you. Praying for peace and calm in the storm. Praying for The Lord to do a mighty work this weekend and be with his soft warrior.

  • Vivian Etherington

Yes, Kim! I am praying for you, for those women who will sit under your teaching, for revival! Praying that “the Holy Spirit will take over.” One of these days, I want to accompany you at one of those retreats!
I was just praying that God would give us a fresh vision of His holiness as I am truly grieved about some things…namely believers’ fascination, draw, whatever you want to call it, to movies. Really, I was grieved to tears last night. It’s time for another one of those conversations when I say ” Am I crazy?” And you say, “No, you’re not!”
Praying you sense God’s Spirit very keenly this weekend! Love you!

  • Jody Gates

Praying for you and a radical revivalif women who love God with all their heart, with all their soul and with all thier mind. May you be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit.

  • Christine Brubaker

So thankful that you allowed God to speak through you this weekend! So many truths I needed to hear! Thanks.

  • Angie Laubach

Dear Kimberly, We were so blessed to have you with us this weekend. I so appreciated your mom and Jean (sp.?) as well. Such gracious women. Thank you to the women who posted and were praying for us-your prayers were not in vain-God moved mightily in the lives of women-several women-I’m sure. One of my favorites from you, Kimberly: Take your thoughts to the feet of Jesus, thank Him for giving you goood thoughts. Praying to be a a true woman-an image bearer of God. Many many blessings back to you. May you be refreshed and rejuvenated in the upcoming days,as you clearly poured out so very much.
