Once upon a time there was a young pastor’s wife who desperately needed help. She felt isolated and hopeless. She was drowning under a load of ministry responsibilities, she had little ones to mother, she had a destructive fierceness that wrecked havoc in her relationships, and she had a husband who’d crawled into a cave and couldn’t be reached.
That young pastor’s wife was me. And one resource that I plugged into (almost daily) in those years was Focus on the Family. It dripped calming truths into my heart as I listened to the wisdom aired there. Back in the day, I never would’ve imagined that one day my husband and I would be guests on their program.
That’s the incredible redeeming nature of our God. He never ceases to amaze me.
Today, we’re sitting down again with the folks at Focus on the Family to share the story of this amazing God. We were there in 2014 to talk about the content in Fierce Women, but today we’ll be discussing the content in the companion volume for husbands: Men Who Love Fierce Women. The programs will be airing in March and I’ll post links here when that happens.
Today, will you pray for us? Ask God to direct our conversation and provide His word of hope for listeners. I’m praying for couples who are where we once were, for that young wife who may be ready to give up, for the husband who’s ready to walk out, for the isolated and lonely.
Will you pray?
