    We heard from a friend this week who recently dismissed his worship pastor because of a hidden life of sexual addiction. Another friend is involved in challenging two people who are in ministry to go through the necessary steps of confession and repentance because of an adulterous affair. Almost weekly I receive messages through Facebook or the blog sharing deep sorrow over their husband’s infidelity. The Church is a mess.  But God is at work. I could cave to despair when I’m faced with all of these different instances of sin, but actually I think God is responding to our prayers. I believe He wants to purify His bride. Could it be…

    Knowing that we live in a fallen world, fight a vicious enemy, and battle with flesh that is prone to indulgence, we should not be shocked when one in our company falls.     Back in 2010 I spent many long weeks in the hospital with my father. One night, an alarm sounded on the hall and the ICU wing went into action immediately. I stepped over to the doorway and could see a crew rushing toward a room down the hall. Through the glass enclosure, I saw the medical team surround the bed and begin emergency procedures.
